A (very quickly wrote) take on Skyward Sword.

Okay, let me just say something. I wasn’t a big fan of Skyward Sword. It was fun, it was interesting. But I’m a guy who loves plausibility and more realistic fantasy games. The idea that instead of Link’s iconic tunic coming from the green garb the rest of the Kokori wore, and that it came from a ‘Knight Academy’, is a little silly.  The other way was so much more real. So much more believable.

The characters of Skyward Sword were weak. I don’t mean depth or development wise, but they were all so child-like in their actions. They weren’t clever or brave.

The graphics were blurry.

Fi was obnoxious. She sounded stupid, she did stupid things, and she was just an annoying character  that I was happy to see go.

The temples were unique and fun, but easy. The bosses weren’t any harder than those of Twilight Princess. The only difference from TP their looks matched their difficulty.

Zelda was just… lets just say I couldn’t stand her.

The various species were boring.

The music wasn’t anything great.

There was nothing to explore. You had to follow the routes to play the game. You couldn’t search and discover.

The story was…

Now, I don’t hate Skyward Sword. I liked it. I had fun playing it, but it wasn’t my favorite game and I would even go to say Twilight Princess was better. But over all I stick to say that Ocarina remains the best in the series.

Okay I’m done ranting.
